π Quick start β from empty to scannable in 15 minutes
- Sign in at the console with the email and password you were given.
- Create your place β on the Locations tab, pick a type like Storage Unit, Closet, or Garage from the Type dropdown, leave "Inside" at top level, click Add location.
- Add structure and containers β optionally add Rack or Shelf inside your place, then use Bulk add (type Tote, count 10, inside your shelf) to create Tote 1βTote 10 in one click. Containers (box, bin, tote) are the level that gets QR stickers β racks and shelves can have them too if you want.
- Print stickers β click π¨ Print all container labels on the Dashboard (or check specific locations), pick a label size, and stick each label on its container.
- Scan with your phone β click π± Mobile mode (or open your member link on your phone), then point the phone camera at any sticker. The bin opens; add items right where you stand.
π¦ Locations & bins
Locations come in three levels, and the Type dropdown offers presets for each:
- π Places β Storage Unit, Closet, Garage, Basement, Warehouseβ¦ the top level.
- π Structure (optional) β Aisle, Rack, Shelf, Cabinetβ¦ organization inside a place.
- π¦ Containers β Box, Bin, Tote, Crateβ¦ this is the level QR stickers go on. Structure can get stickers too if you scan at the shelf level.
Nest them as deep as your space needs β a single closet with three totes is Closet β Tote 1/2/3; a warehouse might be Warehouse β Aisle β Rack β Shelf β Bin.
Bulk add
The fastest way to set up: pick a prefix (like B), a starting number, a count, and where they go. Bulk add creates B1, B2, B3β¦ instantly, each with its own QR code.
Renaming, moving, deleting
- Rename keeps the same QR code β no need to reprint stickers.
- Delete (β) removes the location and everything inside it β sub-locations and items. You'll be asked to confirm.
π· Printing labels
Check the locations you want on the Locations tab, pick a size, click π¨ Print labels. A print window opens β print it like any page.
Label sizes
- Avery 5658 (1Γ1" square, 48/sheet) β QR code with the bin name under it. The everyday bin sticker.
- Avery 94220 (1Γ2", 24/sheet) β QR on the left, a printed list of the bin's contents on the right. Great for boxes you'd otherwise open to check.
- Plain paper (3-up / 2-up / full-page placard) β no label stock needed. Cut with scissors, attach with clear packing tape. The placard size is for room and aisle signs.
π‘ First time on Avery stock? Print one page on plain paper first and hold it against the label sheet. If the grid sits slightly off, use the Nudge boxes (in inches β e.g. 0.06 moves everything right/down a hair) and print again.
π‘ The 94220 contents list is a snapshot from the moment you printed. When a bin's contents change a lot, just reprint that one label.
π± Using your phone
No app to install. The phone camera does everything.
Getting a phone connected
- You: click π± Mobile mode in the console header β your phone-side identity is created automatically.
- Family / staff: add them on the Members tab, copy their personal link, and text or email it to them. They open it once and their phone is linked from then on β no password, no typing.
Scanning
Point the camera at any sticker β the bin opens showing what's inside. Tap β/οΌ to adjust counts, or οΌ Add an item to this spot for new things.
Moving an item
- Tap Move next to the item.
- Walk to where it's going and scan that bin's sticker.
- Tap Put it here in the green bar at the bottom.
Signing out
Sign out on the phone page unlinks that phone. It needs its member link again to reconnect β handy if a phone is lost or someone leaves.
π Items & custom columns
An item lives in exactly one location and has a name, a quantity, and a unit (ea, box, ftβ¦). The Items tab shows everything, filterable by location (with "include inside" to sweep a whole subtree) and searchable.
Custom columns
In Settings, define up to 3 extra fields that appear on every item β pick from suggestions (Material type, Condition, Category, Serial #β¦) or write your own. A "choice" column gives a dropdown, so entries stay consistent.
Low-stock alerts
Give an item a "Low-stock alert at" number and it shows red with a β in the item list whenever the count drops to that level.
π₯ Members
Members are the people who scan and count β they use no-password links, never accounts. Each member gets their own link, so the Activity log shows who changed what. Deactivate a member and their link (and phone) stops working immediately; reactivate any time.
βοΈ Settings & privacy
- When a stranger scans a sticker β by default they see a sign-in prompt and nothing else. Your stickers reveal nothing without a member link. (You can switch to public read-only for shared spaces like a club stockroom.)
- Account name β appears on labels and the phone header.
Every add, count change, move, and delete is recorded in the Activity tab with who and when.
π Platform admin (TGO owner only)
The platform admin login sees a single Accounts tab instead of inventory: create customer accounts (credentials are auto-copied for sending), reset passwords, disable/enable accounts, and review π trouble reports. Customer accounts never see each other.
β FAQ
A sticker got damaged or unreadable β now what?
Check that location in the console, print just that label again, and stick it over the old one. The QR code stays the same.
Can someone find out what's in my unit by scanning?
No. Unless you deliberately set your account to public, a stranger's scan shows only a sign-in prompt.
I forgot my console password.
Email [email protected] β the platform admin can reset it and send you a new one.
Does it work offline in a metal storage building?
Scanning needs a data connection (the record lives on the server). If your unit is a dead zone, step outside β the page loads the moment you have signal.
What phones work?
Any iPhone or Android from the last several years β the camera app reads the QR and opens the browser. Nothing to install.
π Reporting a problem
Click the π button in the console header (or on the phone page), describe what happened and what you expected, and send. Reports go straight to TGO support with your page and account attached, and are tracked until closed.
